Dignity in everyday life.
Welfare, opportunity, representation and remembrance guide MKMVA’s constitutional commitments.
These focus areas describe the association’s priorities. Current projects, application dates and local availability will be added when confirmed.
Veteran Welfare and Support
Assist members and dependants with information, referrals and advocacy relating to pensions, healthcare, housing, burial support and other recognised military-veteran benefits. Formal benefit eligibility and approval rest with the responsible authorities.
Education, Bursaries and Skills
Develop education, training and skills initiatives for members and immediate family members. The constitution specifically assigns development of a bursary scheme to the General Secretary and Treasurer-General.
Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods
Identify lawful business, employment and enterprise opportunities; build member capacity; and form partnerships that advance sustainable socio-economic wellbeing.
Advocacy and Member Representation
Represent collective concerns, engage public institutions, contribute to policy discussions and advocate for fair administrative processes affecting veterans.
Heritage, Archives and Remembrance
Preserve MK history through oral-history collection, archives, commemorations, memorial projects, educational resources and respectful recognition of fallen combatants.
Women Veterans and Disability Inclusion
Create focused platforms and programmes for women veterans and members with disabilities, consistent with constitutional requirements for representation and dedicated committees.
Partnerships and International Relations
Build constructive relationships with progressive veterans’ organisations, civil society, academia, heritage institutions, government and appropriate international partners.
